İ'm left with a stoma
“I’ve written countless reviews on this hospital. I had a tummy tuck in January of this year. I had a lot of problems with infection that was caused in this hospital. I am now due to be released from a seven day stay in one of our hospital. I’ve had bowel problems due to the operation I had. I had emergency surgery 7 days ago and I am now left with a stoma. This hospital is an absolute joke please people don’t go here there are endless complications can occur. I’m not even going to say do your research because I did mine and on paper they seemed the obvious choice.”

Brest implants
“Hi I got breast implants 6 years ago. They have caused nothing but pain every day. I have requested my discharge letter from this hospital many times. They have it but won't give it. Trust me the aftercare is terrible. I'm from Ireland by the way and to get the implants removed I need the discharge letter from this hospital. People be careful. I need my discharge letter from August 2018. I've emailed so many times and no reply. I feel like they don't care about the pain I'm in every day. My doctors in Ireland are trying to help me but can't without knowing what breast implants I've in.”

It cannot be any worse
“It cannot be any worse. Irmet is not the same as before. Since they are not part of bookingsurgery.com, they fell on their knees. Hidden prices, communication with the in-house staff is at 0 level and the new surgeons are totally not known. Do not really know what they are doing. They had a great loss, losing all the lovely coordinators and the most precious surgeons left the hospital. Dr Ali left, Dr Emin left. Disgrace.”

Avoid at all costs!
“I had a thigh lift / lipo in December, whilst there I expressed my drains were not functioning properly. I was ignored and still sent home. Within days of returning to the UK I was admitted due to infection and E. coli in my wound (found from faeces). Several rounds of antibiotics later, the infection hadn’t cleared. Despite telling the coordinators, they ignored me for 9 days. I had massive lumps of fluid build up which was told ‘will go down’. They didn’t. They had to be drained as developed into sepsis/blood poisoning. At this point Irmet was offering me to fly to Turkey despite it being unsafe and being seriously unwell. I was lied to by Matt being promised a partial refund due to the costs occurred. He went quiet and told me to deal with his manager Ozan. He fed me lies for 2 weeks then told me no. I expressed how unhappy I was, then I was blocked from their Facebook page, support groups, everything. I would avoid Irmet at all costs. They do not care about patients. They want your money then disown you.”

Botched - Avoid at all costs
“Have been botched at this hospital!! The booking team confirmed I needed revision but they have now left Irmet Istanbul. I have emailed this hospital and I am getting no reply. Avoid at all costs. I am asking for a refund for what I have paid for!! I had my eyes, arms and thighs done. Arms I can live with but my thighs look totally deformed and my eyes don’t look like they have been touched. Irmet have since offered me revision but no refund!! The surgeon they are offering has no photos of any plastic surgery he has done on any Turkish or International patients. I am scared to go ahead as I have already been botched. They took my money and paid the surgeon. I am left with a deformed looking leg, uneven arms with not enough skin removed and my eyes are ruined too.”

Gastric band to gastric bypass surgery with Irmet
“I had a gastric bypass with Irmet. I previously had a gastric band in the UK and had it removed during the procedure. Most of the staff were really kind, especially housekeeping, the hostess, and the majority of the nursing staff I encountered. However, after my surgery I was in excruciating pain and had a nurse completely ignore me and walk away while I was in agony. I had to have my boyfriend at the time call the hospital from the UK to ensure I got adequate pain relief. In addition, the stitching/suturing from my surgery was really poor. I mentioned it to the doctor during the rounds at the time, who assured me that it was normal. Nonetheless, I returned to the UK and the stitches broke down and I got an infection and had to get antibiotics from urgent care. The scar I have is really bad as a result and I’ll have to get revision surgery to repair it. Overall, I think Irmet have amazing facilities and the majority of the staff are great but I’m not happy with the results.”

“I went to irmet on 17th Dec 2022 for a facelift. The surgeon was in a foul mood and quite intimidating. I expressed concern about my ears not being stretched and woke up post-op with my ear lobes sewn onto my jawline. I was so upset and was apologized to from the hospital and promised that they would invite me back at no cost to myself and fix my ears. It was lies. As soon as I left the hospital they refused to reply to any of my messages and emails. It's been seven months now. I look ridiculous. The hospital is clean but the staff are limited and overran. They appear to have no cannula knowledge and will insist it's fine and keep injecting into a collapsed vein, this is incredibly painful and the medicine just sits in the surrounding tissue. They also have no respect for your dignity, they would never ask their women to expose themselves unnecessarily. It's a cattle farm. They do not care about the patients, only their money. Once they have that you are ignored if you have any problems. Avoid this awful place, there's no morality or ethics happening here.”

“I do not recommend this hospital to anyone especially for those who are travelling from overseas for this dodgy place! Save your money and time and choose a different hospital that actually cares. All this hospital cares about is how much money they can make from international patients. They do not provide the duty of care that they should for their patients. I unfortunately had a rhinoplasty at this hospital last year in June and have been left with a botched nose. Not only to mention that the people I trusted with my life had also chipped my front tooth during surgery and didn’t bother to mention anything until I said that my tooth felt funny after surgery. 2 weeks after my surgery I discussed that something wasn’t right and that I thought something was wrong. The surgeon did not acknowledge what I was saying or even care, just kept saying I was overthinking. 1 month passed and I had a CT scan done again at this hospital before I flew back to Australia. My report stated that my nose was deviated and I had other problems but I still decided to wait 6 months as the surgeon had told me to! It has now been a year, I’ve tried to contact someone at this hospital who then passed me over to someone else and again this person just tried to pass me off in a rude manner saying that management will get back to me? No phone number or email provided and no returns. This hospital is dodgy, rude and unprofessional. I will be coming to Turkey very soon and will be taking this matter further. Be careful with the people you trust your life with and avoid this place.”

My Irmet story
“Hi everyone my name is Sharon I’m from Dublin in Ireland, I traveled to Irmet hospital 30th November 2022, I had surgery on the 1st December 2022, I had an FDL lower 360 and breast implant and uplift. I was told before I traveled my surgery would be 5 to 6 hours. My surgery turned out to be 10 hours, after surgery I had blood transfusion, then I had an allergic reaction to a drug, then I had blood clots go to both of my lungs. I was told I needed to stay another week. Then they let me fly home the day I was due to go home. They said I didn’t need to stay the extra week. From the flight in Dublin airport I was brought straight to Beaumont Hospital the blood clots dislodged in my lungs, from the flight. Hospital told me, I should never have been allowed to fly with blood clots in my lungs. I’m lucky to be alive. I’m still attending a haematologist at the hospital and I’m on blood thinners now. I reached out to Irmet to see would they help me with some sort of compensation for what I’ve went through. They haven’t helped. I’m really disappointed with the way I have been treated from Irmet hospital. Once they get your money they don’t care about you. It’s all about the money. My family want me to see a solicitor, but at the moment I’m still getting treatment. The treatment was supposed to be for 6 months, but it’s looking like the rest of my life. This is what the haematologist said at my last appointment. I haven’t been the same since the surgery, if only I could turn back time.”

"I had an arm lift at this hospital in January. Post-surgery, I was sent home with drainage tubes that weren't draining properly. After days of trying to get help, I was told it was 'normal swelling'. I ended up with an infection that required hospital admission back in France.
